Dear Staff Sergeant Paul J. Wiedorfer,
My name is Lupe Melendez. I am 15 years old. I attend Farragut Career Academy in Chicago, Illinois. I am in the JROTC program in school. I am also in my second year of high school. I’m writing this letter to thank you for your bravery and for risking your life to save other by stopping the two machinegun nest. Then leading the platoon until the mission was accomplished.
Your bravery has benefited our country by saving lives of others. You have showed this country that we can help others with out wanting anything for ourselves and not be selfish and only think about them selves. Also you showed this country that super heroes are real and they are normal, every day people.
Your have showed me personally that there are people that are really care about all kinds of people. That is willing to risk their lives to save lives of others when they are in need. The best part is that you are a person that does not want anything back for yourself.
I would like to wish you a happy, peaceful and long life. Also that you get everything you have ever wanted.
Sincerely,
Lupe Melendez
